A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Justin, asking if I photograph proposals. He and his girlfriend Maggie were visiting Vermont, he wanted to propose to her on their trip, and he wanted the whole thing to be photographed! My first thought was, how sweet and amazing this idea is, for him to plan all of this and want to capture this moment!

My second thought was, nope, never photographed a proposal, but I have always wanted to, oh man, there's one chance to get that shot, don't screw it up Stephanie!

Justin was so amazing to put his faith and trust in me! I suggested an early morning hike to Sunset Ledge, which is an overlook on the Long Trail, heading south from the top of Lincoln Gap. I was there before Justin and Maggie arrived, waiting and posing as an out of state hiker. Luckily, we were the only ones there, as that spot can get pretty crowded, especially on Columbus Day weekend. Justin and I had a plan, and when I said the magic words, he got down on one knee and proposed! Maggie was shocked, she had no idea, and of course she said YES!!!

This was one of the most magical captures for me so far. This was a true moment, and I am so honored that I was able to capture it for them.

Congratulations Justin and Maggie! I am so excited for you in your next adventures together!
